Playgroups in Kingston

These groups are the perfect opportunity to meet other local parents and have your little ones socialise! Most of these groups meet during term time only, I have noted the ones that are exceptions in red.

Mondays:

Playbox Stay & Play at Kingston Methodist Church KT1 2UJ

9:30am - 11:30am

• This sessions is held in the large hall and are suitable for all under 5’s (including babies) with their parents/carers. It includes craft activities, physical play and song time.

• £3 per family 50p per sibling, no need to book in advance!
  

Monday Tots at Corner Stone Church KT2 6LF 9:30am - 10:30am or 11 -12 pm

• These stay and play sessions are for babies and preschool children. There are toys, climbing frames and ride-ons for the children to enjoy including a baby area. Each session also includes a snack time, children’s story and rhyme time. Tea, coffee and snacks are available for free or with a small donation for parents.

• Free, but donations accepted if having a snack or drink. Need to book in advance here, FYI the 930am session books up fast!*

Archway Tiny Tots at Archway Parish Rooms, St Peters Church in Norbiton (corner of Somerset Rd/Washing Rd) KT1 3JL

9:30am - 10:45am

• A new playgroup for parents/carers and their little ones 0-5 years old.

• Free, register upon arrival

All Saints Church, KT1 1JP (across from John Lewis)

10am - 1130am

• Lots of toys and activities for 0-5s

Jolly Toddlers at Kingston United Reformed Church, KT1 1HZ

Drop in anytime between 10am-12pm

*open during all school holidays besides Christmas Holidays*

• This playgroup has playhouses, slides, bikes, baby area, activity tables and more!

• £3 per family, no need to book in advance!

Afterschool Family Session at All Saints Church, KT1 1JP

3.30pm-5.15pm 

• This group is for kids up 10 years old

• £1 per session, includes snacks

Tuesdays: Little Groovers Stay & Play at St John's Church KT1 2SU

9:30am-12pm

• This is a friendly playgroup with a variety of toys for babies and toddlers.

• £4, cash or card, no need to book in advance!

• They regularly post on their Facebook with any cancelations

Kingsgate Stay and Play KT1 1QT 9:30am- 11am

• This playgroup has toys, craft activities and a soft play area.

• £3, cash or card, no need to book in advance!

• (FYI entrance is down the lane between Weatherspoons and KFC)

Stay and Play at Welcare House KT2 6LQ

9:30am- 11am  (Tuesday and Wednesdays)

• This group is friendly and suitable for babies and toddlers. Indoor and outdoor play space, offering a variety of activities and toys.

• £1 per session

Canbury Buttons KT2 5AJ

10am– 11.30am (Tuesday and Thursdays) Located at the Pavilion by Canbury Gardens playground and tennis courts

• This preschooler play group has various crafts, toys and activities.

• 1st child £5, siblings £4, under 6 months go free, no need to book in advance!

• They post their latest updates on their Facebook page

• Open during some of summer holidays!

Tudor Drive Library- Rhyme Time KT2 5QH

2pm- 2:30pm

• This weekly session, run by children's centre staff is for families with babies and toddlers.

• Free, no need to book but places are limited and are on a first come first serve basis.

Wednesday:

• This group is friendly and suitable for babies and toddlers. Indoor and outdoor play space, offering a variety of activities and toys.

St. Pauls Rainbows KT2 7SF

10am -11:30am

• This playgroup for 0-5s, has toys, as well as story time and songs halfway through.

• £3, cash or card, no need to book in advance!

• This is a very popular playgroup so be sure to be there on time, as sometimes they have to turn people away

Tots Praise at United Reform Church, KT1 1HZ

10am- 12pm (song session starts at 10.10am)

• This group is suitable for children up to 4 years old, it consists of songs, interactive stories and lots of toys to play with.

• Free, but please note that the led session is faith-based

Crafty Tales Kingston Children's Centre, KT1 3AR

11:30-12pm (for under 1s),

12:30pm-1pm (1-2 yr olds)

• £4.50 per session

• Call 020 8481 0640 to book, please call no sooner than 2 working days prior to the session

St Raphael's Little Cherubs, KT1 2NA

1:30pm-3pm

Thursday:

Under 5 Stay and Play, Kingston Children's Centre, KT1 3AR

10am- 11:30am

• Indoor and large outdoor play (can get messy!) ideal for toddlers but there is an indoor section for babies as well.

• £2.50 suggested donation, no booking required.

10:30am-11am Located at the local Kingston Library KT1 2PS

• Free, no need to book but spots are limited to first come!

Saturday

• A play session for dads to bring their under 5s! There are toys, climbing frames and ride-ons for the children to enjoy including a baby area. Each session includes coffee and bacon rolls.

Crafternoons at United Reform Church, KT1 1HZ

• Usually the third Saturday of the month, from 2-4pm, £3 per person or £5 per family; a different craft each time.

Sunday

Muddy Toddlers at Canbury Community Garden (next to Canbury Secret cafe) KT2 5AJ

11am

• This is run by parent volunteers on the second / third Sunday of the month (there is a whatsapp group to inform the details, happy to connect you if interested!)

• Outdoor playgroup with toys, painting and water play (can get messy and no toilets!)

• Free no need to book in advance, suitable for ages under 5 but older kids are welcome as well.

Open Everyday (including half term & summer)

All Saints Church, KT1 1JP (across from John Lewis)

10am - 4pm

• Not an official playgroup, but space for little ones to play. Lots of toys and activities available to anyone who purchases a drink from the café (£1.50 for a coffee)

• Free, open everyday
  

Picnic (In the Rotunda)

• A softplay where children 6 yrs and under can role play in the themed play areas.

• Offers 4 sessions per day, 7 days per week. Must book online!

  
  

World of Children, Bentalls Centre 2nd Floor

10am-12pm or 2pm-4pm

• This fabulous creche offers a stay and play while overlooking the high street, £4 an hour + £2 for a sibling over 6 months & £1.50 per adult

• Cash only, no need to book in advance

• Suitable for ages 6 months - 5/6 ( FYI mostly babies/toddlers that attend)
